Public Program: Bird Flu -- What You Should Know
Tuesday, June 20, 7:00PM at Oatland Island Education Center
There is a lot of misinformation circulating on the topic of avian flu and the threat that it potentially represents. Get the facts straight from an expert. Cristina Pasa of Chatham County Health Department will be the speaker. There will be time for questions from the audience. This event id free and open to the public. Field Trip to Skidaway Island
Saturday, June 24, 8:00AM to Noon
Meet at 8 AM in the parking lot opposite the Village gas station on Skidaway Island. Skidaway offers a good opportunity to view a variety of the low country's breeding birds. The trip will visit Priest's Landing, the Midpoint Rookery at The Landings, and other Skidaway birding hot spots. Free and open to the public. Field Trip to Tybee Island North Beach
Saturday, July 8, 5:00 PM to 7:30PM
Diana Churchill will lead the group on a quest for gulls, terns, skimmers and breeding songbirds. Meet opposite the Recycling Center on Polk St., Tybee Island, at 5:00 PM. Free and open to the public. Bring snacks, water, and bug and sun protection. For more information, please call 912-786-5703.
